Talkin Tough
Honest conversations about mental health, resilience, and lived experience.
About this Project
Talkin Tough is a Ski for Life podcast hosted by best mates and professional speakers Mike “Legless” Rolls and Ben “Blind” Pettingill, a legless lad and a blind bloke on a mission to challenge what it means to be “tough”.
Each episode is a straight-up yarn about life, adversity, mental health, resilience, and the moments that shape us, with honesty, humour, and zero fluff.

How the project works
Talkin Tough brings guests into a relaxed, down-to-earth space where the conversation can go where it needs to, the good, the tough, and the in-between.
The format is simple: honest stories, practical takeaways, and the kind of humour that makes hard topics feel easier to talk about.
Episodes are published online, so the impact isn’t limited to a single place or weekend. The conversations can reach people year-round.
Why it matters
For a lot of people, especially in regional communities, “tough” can mean staying quiet and pushing through. Talkin Tough flips that on its head.
By sharing lived experience in a way that’s relatable (and often bloody funny), the podcast helps normalise speaking up, checking in on your mates, and getting support when you need it.
