Supporting community-led mental health and suicide prevention initiatives in rural and regional Australia.

Ski for Life provides grants to community groups and organisations delivering practical mental health and suicide prevention initiatives across rural and regional Australia. We support projects that strengthen wellbeing, promote connection, and deliver measurable impact where it’s needed most.

What We Fund

We welcome applications for projects that:

  • Are community-led and locally delivered

  • Focus on mental health, well-being, and suicide prevention

  • Support rural and regional communities

  • Create practical, measurable outcomes

What We Don't Fund

To ensure fair and effective use of grant funds, Ski for Life does not support funding for:

  • Wages and salaries (except for presenters or guest speakers)

  • Travel/transport for staff or volunteers not acting as presenters

  • Infrastructure projects (construction, purchase or rent)

  • Materials, equipment and capital resources

  • Private or corporate projects

  • Applications submitted by other charities

  • Projects based in metropolitan areas rather than regional/rural locations

Grant applications are assessed in multiple rounds each year.

Assessment Criteria

When we review applications, we consider:

  • How well the project aligns with our mission and values

  • The number and type of people the project will support

  • The feasibility of completing the project in 12 months

  • The evidence of community need and engagement

  • Whether the project has additional funding or support in place

Successful applicants are asked to acknowledge Ski for Life's contribution in project communications and to provide a short impact report on completion, including photo, participant feedback and outcomes,
